2017 Equity Scholarships
The Sydney Conservatorium of Music has a range of financial scholarships available to full-time enrolled students who can demonstrate financial hardship.
Application for Equity/Financial Aid scholarships are now available for Semester 1, 2017. 2017 Equity Scholarships Application Form.
You will need to carefully read the instructions on the form and provide relevant supporting documents. An incomplete application will not be assessed.
Application deadline is by close of business: Monday 3 April 2017. Late applications will not be accepted.
|Margaret Helman Scholarship||Financial need - Indigenous||Support for any student in financial need, preference given to an Indigenous student.|
|Bessie Cook Piano Award||Piano||Support for any student with a combination of either classical or contemporary piano performance, academic record, and financial need. Number of available scholarships varies from year to year.|
|The David & Nhila Dumbrell Scholarship||Piano||Support for any piano students with financial need.|
|The Basil & Murial Hooper Scholarship||Financial need||One or more scholarships for students who could not otherwise afford tuition, but who in the Dean's opinion possess sufficient merit and talent.|
|The Helpmann Family Fellowship||Opera||Multiple fellowships may be awarded to opera students for tuition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Number of available scholarships varies from year to year.|
|William & Marie Souter Awards||Financial need - Australian||Support for an Australian resident with limited financial means. Classical music aptitude will be tested by audition or assessment. Need undertaking by recipient that award is used towards payment of either: i) cost of study; ii) fees; iii) instrument purchase; iv) accommodation; or v) travel associated with additional study. Number of available scholarships varies from year to year.|
|Kathleen & Allison Short Scholarship||Piano, violin, viola, cello||Support for any talented students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music studying piano, violin, viola or cello who are deemed to be in financial need.|
|George & Margaret Henderson Travel Scholarship||Piano, violin, opera - under 26||Support for any advanced students of piano, violin or operatic singing under the age of 26 for further music study abroad.|
|The Kirkpix Trust Scholarship||Saxophone - undergraduate||Support for one academic year for a first or second year student deemed to be in financial need and unable to afford tuition showing outstanding promise on saxophone.|
|Turrill Scholarship for Classical Piano||Classical Piano||Support for any classical piano students who demonstrate financial disadvantage and promising talent.|
|Brian Abel Piano Scholarship||Piano||Support for any piano students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music who demonstrate financial need or disadvantage and have lived in Australia for the past 5 years.|
|Eleanor Dunn Scholarship||Postgraduate||Support for a Postgraduate student studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.|
|Patricia Long Bequest||Financial need||Support for a student from the Conservatorium High School entering the Sydney Conservatorium of Music for tertiary study.|
|Rahma Shohet Memorial Scholarship - PG Piano||Postgraduate piano||Support for a Postgraduate piano student studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.|
|Rahma Shohet Memorial Scholarship - PG Voice||Postgraduate voice||Support for a Postgraduate vocal student studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.|
