Historical Performance audition requirements
Candidates must prepare a program totaling 50 minutes of material at the level of a undergraduate senior or exit recital of works at an advanced level of difficulty to a high standard of excellence. The audition panel retains the right to curtail the performance and select excerpts of the works presented as it sees fit.
Where possible, you should attend a live audition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. If you are an interstate or international applicant and cannot attend in person, you may submit a recorded audition online. The recordings must be no older than six weeks at the time of dispatch. Audio-only recordings will not be accepted.
Accompaniment for live auditions
Historical Performance applicants are required to have specialised accompaniment at the audition. Applicants who experience difficulties in obtaining an accompanist, should contact Professor Neal Peres Da Costa – Professor of Historical Performance and Program Leader of Postgraduate Research.
