Mischa Maisky Masterclass

See history being made as young Australian musicians play their hearts out for the legendary Mischa Maisky, in a masterclass they will never forget. He is the only cellist to have studied with both Rostropovich and Piatigorsky, two of the most influential performers and teachers of the instrument. But Maisky himself does not teach, and rarely if ever comments on mere technique. Instead, his masterclasses are renowned for their focus on emotion and expression. “For me there are two ways of playing music that should be forbidden by law: to play it ugly or to play it boring,” he says. Join us for this extremely rare and privileged opportunity to see the next generation connect with one of the great performers of our time.
