Sydney Conservatorium of Music offers you the opportunity to attend a masterclass with acclaimed trombonist, Tim Dowling. You are invited to witness him working with talented students, workshopping techniques to perfect their craft in an ‘open lesson’ format.
Currently principal trombonist of the Residentie Orchestra in The Hague, Melbourne born Timothy Dowling has been working in The Netherlands since 1988. After studying at the Victorian College of the Arts he began his professional career with Orchestra Victoria in 1979, and was subsequently principal in the Tasmanian Symphony (1981) and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra (1982-86) before joining the Sydney Symphony as associate principal in 1986. He teaches trombone at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and is also a member of period instrument orchestra Anima Eterna, Bruges.
