Four members and only one instrument. The Quinta Essentia recorder quartet is one of the main chamber music groups in Brazil and one of the few in the world spreading the recorder in different musical universes. Since 2006, the year of its formation, the group is considered the main representative of the Brazilian recorder practice. Therefore, it has often been invited to perform in different countries all over the world. The instrument collection used by the group is formed by ancient and modern instruments. Besides the baroque recorders, the group makes use of a Renaissance “Bassano” consort by the British luthier Adrian Brown and modern recorders such as the square recorders, the Helder and Tarasov harmonic recorders, the Dream recorders, and also, the newest member: the Eagle recorder by Adriana Breukink. This interesting collection of instruments from the recorder family makes each concert an even richer experience for the public.
