A special session on The Art of Conducting Mozart with a particular focus on Symphony Nos. 38 and 41 with students working from marked materials and conductors' scores by Richard Strauss, Bruno Walter, Otto Klemperer, Sir Thomas Beecham and Sir Charles Mackerras, continued in Recital Hall West from 11:00 a.m.
Dr Raymond Holden – the Sir John Barbirolli Reader in Music at the Royal Academy of Music, London – is presenting special workshops in Conducting at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Born in Australia, Dr Holden has conducted internationally renowned orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra and has spoken at the world's leading festivals, universities and conservatories including Glyndebourne and Oxford.
