This this the inaugural expo for the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s graduating BMus (Music Education) cohort. Each 4th year student has recently completed their final practicum placing, and during this time they undertook an Action Research project to bring together their studies and practice as emerging professional music teachers. A broad range of topics will be presented as poster sessions, from improvising in the classroom to working with recent refugee and migrant populations. 4th year honours students will also present their final research findings, which this year look at the topics of Teaching traditional repertoire from the Philippines for Filipino students in Sydney; Teaching Hip Hop in schools and in the community; Teaching the changing adolescent voice; and The inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island music in secondary school learning and teaching
